Halo CME Mail Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2001 22:20:52 +0000 (GMT) From: Kevin Schenk Subject: Partial HALO CME 2001/12/11 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ UCMEO 93001 11211 2200/ 11211 60830 81518 3001/ 130// 113// 30348 11211 70812 80824 11458 09733 1122/ 9999 BT EIT and LASCO observed a partial HALO CME event of 2001/12/11. This event first seen in C2 at 08:30 UT as a front over the Northeast with roughed LE and faint structure. The front spanned approx pa 300-130 degrees. Event traveled to the C3 field begining at 09:18 and quickly deteriorating by 15:30. The plane-of-sky speeds averaged through both cameras calculated to 348 km/sec at PA 39 degrees. EIT sees a bright flare in AR 9733, location [N14; E58] begining at 08:12-08:24 UT. A faint northward traveled EIT wave is seen in the 195A differenced images. The event is followed by post flare loopings. GOES reports a X2.8 class x-ray flare of 9733 between 07:58-08:14 UT. This event is probably related to the CME seen in Lasco.
