LASCO observed a full halo CME on 2001/11/03. The event was
first observed in C2 at 19:20 UT as a wide, bright loop front
spanning the NE quadrant and extending over the N pole; by
19:50 UT this front had developed to a full halo CME. The front
first appeared unambiguously in C3 at 20:00 UT with maximal
coverage of the C3 occultor by 21:15 UT. The plane of sky speed
of the front was measured as 495 km/s at PA 4 (N) with slight
deceleration through the coronagraphs' fields of view.

EIT was in bakeout mode at this time and so EUV images of the
low corona are not available, and it is not possible to say
with any confidence whether this event was front- or backsided.
However, if the event were indeed frontsided it would almost
certainly be overtaken by the 1600+ km/s event the following
day to form part of a complex ejecta at 1 AU
