Halo CME Mail Date: Fri, 8 Sep 2000 20:04:54 +0000 (GMT) From: Simon Plunkett Subject: Partial halo CME on 2000/09/07 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ LASCO and EIT observed a partial halo CME yesterday, 2000/09/07. The event was first visible in C2 at 21:30 UT, as a bright ragged loop over the NW limb. The event extended from PA 250 (W limb) to PA 10 (N pole), a total extent of about 120 degrees. The measured speed in the plane of the sky was 425 km/s at PA 300. EIT observed an eruption and wave event in AR 9151, located at about N12 W47. Thies eruption was probably associated with the CME. Images and movies of this event can be found at the LASCO ftp server: ftp://ares.nrl.navy.mil/pub/lasco/halo/20000907.
